Prepare Healthy Snacks
Research shows that hands-on experiences with food during nutrition education improves dietary quality in children. Likewise, repeat exposure increases dietary variety.
Activities for Development
Preschool-aged children need at least 3 hours of moderate to vigorous activity each day, and school-aged children 6-17 need a minimum of one hour of vigorous activity daily.

Examples of Programmed Activities
Each weekly session consists of 20 minute nutrition education with hands-on preparation of a healthy snack, 10 minute snack break, 10 minute healthy habits goal planning and reflecting, and 30 minutes of physical activities.
Activities vary each session and are based on programming and age range.
Typical age ranges are grouped as 3-4, 4-6, 6-8, 8-12 (depending on class size).
